About Tom
After more than 20 years of hands-on experience working on homes — from renovating my own properties to helping friends and family with theirs — I decided to turn that passion into a business. I know firsthand how stressful buying a home can be. When I bought my first house, I remember worrying about what might be hiding behind the walls. That’s why I approach every inspection with the Golden Rule in mind: I treat every client’s home as if it were my own.
My guiding principle is simple: your safety and peace of mind come first. I focus on honesty, thoroughness, and education — explaining what I see so you feel confident moving forward. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a long-time homeowner, my goal is to help you make clear, informed decisions.
“I inspect every home as if my own family were going to live in it.”
Family
As the founder and owner of TK Home Inspections I live in Brighton, CO with my wife of 30 years and my 5-year-old Golden Retriever named Miles. I have one daughter who recently graduated from Colorado Mesa University. My family is the most important thing to me and as such, that is why home inspections are so important to me. I know the peace of mind that comes from knowing your family is in a safe home.
As is evident by my dog’s name, I am an avid Denver Broncos fan and season ticket holder. Besides watching the Broncos, I like woodworking, doing Lego kits, riding motorcycle, playing golf and hanging out with my friends.
Most of my experience comes from flipping homes, handyman work and being a loss control consultant for a large regional insurance company. I know the ins and outs of a home and have seen them stripped down to bare studs to completion. I’ve seen and can identify homes with water, fire and insect damage.
I’ve often been called a perfectionist which is both a good and bad thing. However, in the home inspection business, I believe that’s a very good quality to have. Couple that with integrity, quick responsiveness and belief in the Golden Rule and I believe that is what makes me different than others.
